ENTRY DEADLINE: Wednesday, October 4 at 5:00 p.m. CDT. Entry forms shall be returned to the Northern Texas PGA via mail, facsimile, overnight carrier or in person prior to the entry deadline. The Northern Texas PGA is not responsible for the delivery of the U.S. Mail nor any overnight carriers. On-line entries will also be accepted at www.ntpga.com. Please note: Nationwide Tour and PGA TOUR Members will not be able to sign-up online.
ENTRY FEE: $350.00 – PGA Members/Apprentices, Other Professionals and Amateurs.
$100.00 – Nationwide Tour Members and PGA Tour Members.
Personal checks will be accepted from the PGA Tour approved list and from PGA Members only.
Entry fee includes greens fee and range usage for the qualifying event on October 9 only. The entry fee is payable in cash, cashier’s check, money order, traveler’s check or VISA or MasterCard.
ELIGIBILITY: Professionals or amateurs who have a USGA handicap index of 2.4 or lower (or a USGA handicap of 2 or less). Amateurs should include verification of their handicap by a PGA professional on the entry form below.
FORMAT: 18-hole stroke play qualifying tournament for the Nationwide Tour Permian Basin Charity Golf Classic, October 12-15, 2006, at Midland Country Club in Midland, Texas.
QUALIFYING SPOTS: There will be fourteen (14) qualifying spots available. Any ties for the final qualifying spot(s) and alternate positions will be determined by a sudden-death playoff immediately following the completion of play. If two courses are used, the number of players advancing will be on a pro rata basis.
QUALIFYING SITES: Requests for a specific golf course will NOT be granted. The primary qualifying site will be Green Tree Country Club. If the total number of entries necessitates the use of two golf courses, Odessa Country Club will be used. The Northern Texas PGA will split the field (at random) between the two courses if necessary. It is the player’s responsibility to know if additional sites have been added.
MAXIMUM FIELD SIZE: The maximum field size will be 264 contestants.
STARTING TIMES: Starting times will be available by calling Green Tree CC or Odessa CC (Links) and by checking www.ntpga.com after 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7.
WITHDRAWALS: Applicants must withdraw prior to the entry deadline to be eligible for an entry fee refund. Contestants who withdraw during the round may be subject to disciplinary action.
REFUNDS: No refunds will be issued after the entry deadline. Prior to the entry deadline, a $25.00 administrative fee will be charged should a player withdraw.
PRACTICE ROUNDS: Contact Green Tree CC or Odessa CC (Links) to schedule a practice round. Practice round fees for both courses will be $40.00 weekdays and $50.00 weekends.
RULES OF GOLF: Play shall be governed in accordance with the Rules of Golf of the United States Golf Association, as modified by the PGA Tour 2006 Local Rules and Conditions of Competition card and supplemented by the Notice to Competitors. Questions or disputes shall be settled by the on site Rules Committee appointed by the PGA Tour, whose decision shall be final.
MEASURING DEVICES: Electronic measuring devices WILL NOT be permitted in any PGA TOUR or Nationwide Tour qualifying event.
TRANSPORTATION: Players and caddies shall walk at all times, except when permitted to ride by the Rules Committee. Players are not required to have a caddie; they may carry their own clubs or use a manual or motorized pull cart. Golf cars are not permitted.
Anyone seeking a golf cart due to a disability defined under the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) should contact the PGA Tour’s Competitions Department at (904) 285-3700 to obtain information on procedures for submitting such requests. All such requests and required information must be submitted to PGA Tour no less than 60 days prior to the competition. Please note that requests due to temporary injuries or impairments that do not qualify as a “disability” under the ADA will not be granted.
APPEARANCE: Players: While on the host facility property, players shall present a neat appearance in both clothing and personal grooming. Contestants must wear long pants that touch the top of their shoes. Blue jeans, cutoffs or T-shirts shall not be worn. Caddies: While on the host facility property, caddies may wear either long pants or tailored solid colored knee length shorts. Blue jeans, cutoffs or T-shirts shall not be worn. Smooth rubber sole shoes are required, golf shoes with traditional metal or soft spikes are prohibited.
SPIKE POLICY: The use of traditional metal spikes is permitted during the Competition. Green Tree Country Club and Odessa Country Club are non-metal spike facilities, all contestants MUST abide by this policy during practice rounds.
CONDUCT: While on host facility property during qualifying rounds, players and caddies shall conduct themselves in a professional manner. The Northern Texas PGA Section reserves the right to remove a player from the qualifying competition for non-competitiveness, conduct unbecoming a professional by the player, and/or conduct unbecoming a professional by the players’ caddie.
