Doan and Pullen Qualify for 2007 EDS Byron Nelson Championship

 

CARROLLTON, Texas- The Northern Texas PGA “Class A” qualifying for the EDS Byron Nelson Championship was held today at Columbian Country Club in Carrollton, Texas.  Cameron Doan, head golf professional at Preston Trail Golf Club in Dallas fired a 6-under par, 66 to take the first qualifying spot.  Craig Pullen, director of golf at Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco fired a 5-under par, 67 to claim the second and only remaining qualifying spot.  Doan and Pullen both came in with matching back nine totals of 4-under, 32 on their way to qualifying for the 2007 EDS Byron Nelson Championship.

 

Vince Jewell, assistant golf professional at Brook Hollow Golf Club in Dallas birdied the fifth sudden death playoff hole to capture the first alternate spot.  Jewell edged out Michael Henderson, head golf professional at Stevens Park Golf Course in Dallas and Robert McMillan, head golf professional at The Retreat in Cleburne.  The 2007 EDS Byron Nelson Championship will be played April 26-29 at the Four Seasons Resort & Club in Irving, Texas.
