61 Players Advance to the EDS Byron Nelson Championship Open Qualifying Tournament
SOUTHLAKE, Texas - Play was suspended on Tuesday evening in the Byron Nelson Championship Pre-Qualifying Tournament. Heavy rain, hail and lightning swept through the area prompting tournament officials to not resume play until 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Only five players remained to finish play out of the 168 players who attempted Pre-Qualifying. Out of those five players remaining, four of them successfully qualified.
Players were attempting to grab one of the 50 spots and ties available to move onto the Open Qualifying Tournament to be held on Monday, April 23 at Timarron Country Club. 61 players officially qualified and advanced to the Open Qualifying Tournament by shooting 75 (+4) or lower. The Open Qualifying Tournament will have four (4) qualifying spots available into the EDS Byron Nelson Championship to be conducted on April 26-29 at the Four Seasons Resort & Club in Irving, Texas.
