Kathy Whitworth
In addition to signing copies of her new book for tournament
participants, Kathy Whitworth will be making personal appearances
throughout the week of the Texas Women’s Open at Eastern Hills
Country Club. Kathy Whitworth is one of the most successful players
in golf history with eighty-eight career wins as a professional. Kathy
was named Player of the Year seven times in eight years by the LPGA
and she was inducted into both the LPGA Hall of Fame and the World
of Golf Hall of Fame in 1975.

Rule 14.

A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only.  However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used. 

New Beginning Center

The 2007 Texas Women's Open at Eastern Hills Country Club will benefit the New Beginning Center of Garland.  The center exists to foster an environment of safety, support and respect for families affected by domestic violence.  The vision of the New Beginning Center is to promote social change that will lead to the elimination of domestic violence.
