Defending Champion Arthur Shares Lead with Beezley Following First Round of Callaway Golf NTPGA Western Championship
MIDLAND, TX – Defending champion Perry Arthur, director of instruction at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club (Dye Course) shares the lead with Scott Beezley, assistant golf professional at Grayson County College Golf Course, after the first round of the 2007 Callaway Golf NTPGA Western Championship. Arthur and Beezley both fired rounds of 5-under par 67 today with matching front and back nine totals of 35 and 32. Larry Bryan, head golf professional at Big Spring Country Club, sits one shot off the lead after shooting a 4-under par 68 (35-33). There are currently 16 players at par or better heading into the final round.
The Callaway Golf NTPGA Western Championship is presented by FORE Texas and Midland Country Club and is being conducted at Midland Country Club in Midland, Texas a 7,268-yard, par 72 layout. The 81-player field comprising of golf professionals from the Northern Texas Section of the PGA of America is competing for a $19,350.00 total purse, with the champion taking home $2,400.00.
