Cameron Doan Captures Callaway Golf NTPGA Western Championship on Second Playoff Hole

MIDLAND, TX – Cameron Doan, head golf professional at Preston Trail Golf Club, erased a five shot deficit after round one to claim the 2007 Callaway Golf Western Championship. Doan carded a 5-under par 67 (34-33) during today’s final round to force a playoff with defending champion Perry Arthur. Arthur, director of instruction at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club (Dye Course), shared the lead at 5-under par following the first round and finished today’s final round at even par 72 (35-37). Both players made par on the first sudden death playoff hole, Doan hit his tee shot on the 180 yard par 3, 16th hole to six feet. Doan would only need to two putts to win the playoff and claim the title for the second time in his career. His previous Western Championship victory came in 2002 at San Angelo Country Club.
