SECTION CHAMPIONSHIP


Host Professional:
Gilbert Freeman – Head Golf Professional (214) 821-7690.

Eligibility:
Open to eligible NTPGA Members with the exception of A-3 Members.

Format:
The Championship will be conducted at individual stroke play over 36-holes.

Purse:
$50,000.00 estimated (based on a field of 100 players).

Entry Fee:
$200.00 (Includes cart/range fees, as well as breakfast prior to each round and lunch on Monday).

Entry Deadline:
Thursday, September 13 at 5:00 p.m. CDT. The first 144 entries will be accepted into the field. Entry forms shall be returned to the Northern Texas PGA via mail, facsimile, overnight carrier or in person prior to the entry deadline. On-line entries will be accepted at www.ntpga.com.

EDS Byron Nelson Exemption:
The 2007 FINA NTPGA Section Champion will receive an exemption into the 2008 EDS Byron Nelson Championship at the Four Seasons Resort & Club on April 24-27, 2008.

Player’s Pool:
There will be an optional second round Player’s Pool for those players who are outside the money after the first round. Entry fee into the Player’s Pool will be $20.00 cash and will be collected on the tee at your starting time. The Player’s Pool is based on scores for round two only. The payout for the lowest round two scores are 1st-50%, 2nd-30% and 3rd-20%. The Player’s Pool is separate from the tournament purse.

Starting Times:
First round starting times will be available by calling Lakewood Country Club or the Northern Texas PGA or visiting www.ntpga.com after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14. Starting times will also be emailed to all players as soon as they are finalized.

Practice Rounds:
For all tournament participants, practice rounds will be available Tuesday through Friday prior to the Championship and on Sunday, September 16 after 12:00 p.m. Please contact Lakewood Country Club to schedule a practice round.

Player of the Year:
The FINA NTPGA Section Championship is the final stroke play event that will serve as qualifying for the year-end Cleveland Golf / Club Car Match Play Championship and Texas Joe Black Cup team as well as determine the Player of the Year and Ben Hogan Stroke Play Average Award winner.

Senior Series:
This is the final event of the NTPGA Senior Series. In addition to the regular purse, senior professionals 50 years and older will be competing for a purse of $1,000.00. NTPGA Senior Points for representation on the Texas Joe Black Cup team will also be distributed.

Doubletree – Campbell Centre is offering a rate of $89.00 + tax. Please call (800) 245-8918 to make a reservation. Please identify that you are with the Northern Texas PGA group. The Doubletree – Campbell Centre is located at 8520 North Central Expressway between Northwest Highway and Southwestern Blvd.


NATIONWIDE TOUR WNB GOLF CLASSIC QUALIFYING

Eligibility:
Northern Texas PGA “Class A” members in good standing who are registered to play in the FINA NTPGA Section Championship. Note: Class A-3 members of the Section are ineligible to participate in the NTPGA “Class A” member qualifying for PGA Tour or Nationwide Tour events.

Format:
36-hole stroke play qualifying tournament.

Tournament Proper:
The Nationwide Tour WNB Golf Classic will be played October 11-14, 2007, at Midland Country Club in Midland, Texas.

Qualifying Spots:
There will be two (2) qualifying spots available, plus the 2007 NTPGA Section Champion – three (3) total spots. Two (2) alternate spots are also available. In the event the NTPGA champion chooses not to participate, their spot will revert to the 36-hole “PGA Class A” Qualifying Tournament.

Entry Fee:
$75.00.

Entry Deadline:
Thursday, September 13 at 5:00 p.m. CDT. Entry forms shall be returned to the Northern Texas PGA via mail, facsimile, overnight carrier or in person prior to the entry deadline. On-line entries will NOT be accepted for WNB Golf Classic qualifying.

Starting times will be available by calling Lakewood Country Club, the Northern Texas PGA or by visiting www.ntpga.com after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14. Starting times will also be emailed to all players.

Dress Code:
Proper professional attire is required. Shorts are not permitted during the qualifying tournament or during the official practice round. Lakewood Country Club is a non-metal spike facility.

Practice Rounds:
Practice rounds will be available weekdays prior to qualifying. Contact Lakewood Country Club to schedule a practice round.
