ANTUNES DUO CAPTURES PRO-PRO CHAMPIONSHIP

 

Shreveport, LA – The father and son duo of Greg Antunes, head professional at Stonetree Golf Club in Killeen and Jon Antunes a teaching professional at HOT Golf, Inc. in Waco captured the Northern Texas PGA ACE Laminates of Texas/ Horseshoe Casino Pro-Pro Championship.  Greg and Jon shot a final round 68 (-3) to finish at 131 (-11) for the championship.


The team of Vince Jewell, assistant professional at Brook Hollow Golf Club and Rick Woodson, director of instruction at Woodbridge Golf Club in Wylie finished three shots back in second place with a pair of 67’s to finish at 134 (-8).   Three other teams tied for third at 135 (-7).

 

Gilbert Freeman, head professional at Lakewood Country Club in Dallas and Bob Elliott, head professional at Northwood Club in Dallas captured the Senior Division of the championship by nine shots. Freeman and Elliott shot rounds of 67-71 to finish at 138 (-4).

The four-ball stroke play NTPGA major championship features 47 teams of two PGA professionals competing at Southern Trace Country Club, a par 71, 6,861 yard Arthur Hills designed private facility located in Shreveport, Louisiana. 

 

The is Northern Texas PGA ACE Laminates of Texas/ Horseshoe Casino Pro-Pro Championship presented by American Dry Goods, Club Car, Cutter & Buck, Green Grass Golf Group and Sunbirds International.

 

The 57 teams are competing for a share of the $27,000.00 purse. The winning team took home $3,600.00 for first place.
