FATHER & SON TEAM LEAD CHAMPIONSHIP
Shreveport, LA – The team of Greg Antunes, head professional at Stonetree Golf Club in Killeen, teamed with his son Jon Antunes, a teaching professional at HOT Golf, Inc. in Waco fired an opening round 63 (-8) to lead by two shots in the Northern Texas PGA ACE Laminates of Texas/ Horseshoe Casino Pro-Pro Championship.
The team of Scott Warner and John Sikes is two shots back after opening with a round one total of 65 (-6). Three teams are tied for third place at 66 (-5).
Gilbert Freeman, head professional at Lakewood Country Club in Dallas and Bob Elliott, head professional at Northwood Club in Dallas lead the Senior Division of the championship by six shots after round one. Freeman and Elliott shot 67 (-4).
The four-ball stroke play NTPGA major championship features 47 teams of two PGA professionals competing at Southern Trace Country Club, a par 71, 6,861 yard Arthur Hills designed private facility located in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The is Northern Texas PGA ACE Laminates of Texas/ Horseshoe Casino Pro-Pro Championship presented by American Dry Goods, Club Car, Cutter & Buck, Green Grass Golf Group and Sunbirds International.
The 57 teams are competing for a share of the $27,000.00 purse. The winning team will take home $3,600.00 for first place. |
