ALTHEIDE & LEASLEY LEAD NTPGA / ADAMS GOLF PRO-SCRATCH CHAMPIONSHIP
 
 
Dallas, TexasAfter first round action of the NTPGA / Adams Golf Pro-Scratch Championship, the team of Karl Altheide, Head Golf Professional at Hawks Creek Golf Club, and amateur partner Kenneth Leasley have the over night lead after carding a 6-under par 65 today. 
 
Altheide and Leasley had eight birdies in their four-ball round this afternoon, including a fast start with birdies on their first four holes en route to an opening nine hole score of 5-under par 31 on the back nine. 
 
The four-ball stroke play NTPGA major championship features 82 teams of one professional teamed with one scratch amateur competing at Bent Tree Country Club located in Dallas, Texas. The team of Cameron Doan, Head Golf Professional at Preston Trail Golf Club and amateur partner Joel Eastman is one shot off the pace set by Altheide and Leasley after firing a round of 5-under par 66. Three teams share third place following rounds of 4-under par 67 during the first round.
 
The 82 teams are competing for a share of the $19,020.00 purse. The winning team will take home $1,500.00 for first place. Amateurs will be awarded gift certificates. Round two is scheduled to start with tee times from 8:00 – 9:40 a.m. and 12:30 – 2:00 p.m.
 
The Adams Golf Pro-Scratch Championship is presented by Etonic and Yamaha Golf Cars.
