Thank you for entering the 2008 Northern Texas PGA Professional Championship. We are pleased to inform you that 116 Members entered the NTPGA Section PGA Professional Championship.
The following are details related to the 2008 Northern Texas PGA Professional Championship to be contested at Mira Vista Country Club on Monday, August 11 – Tuesday, August 12. If you have any questions related to the tournament proper, please contact us at the Section office at (214) 420-7421.
Entry Fee: As you know, our individual stroke play major championships cost $200.00 to enter. Therefore, for consistency, an additional $90.00 entry fee is payable to the Section no later than Thursday, August 7 at 5:00 p.m. CDT. Online registration is available at www.ntpga.com.
Format: The Championship will be contested at stroke play over 36-holes. The starting times and groupings for round one will be available by calling Mira Vista Country Club at (817) 294-6666 or the NTPGA or by visiting www.ntpga.com after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8. (If you require a starting time request for round one, please denote it on the entry form no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 7.) Starting times will be off of the 1st and 10th tees in the morning and the afternoon. The field will be repaired for the final round according to round one scores. Low scores will play in the afternoon wave and higher scores will play in the morning wave.
National Qualifying Spots: There will be eight (8) qualifying spots available for the 42nd PGA Professional National Championship being held Sunday, June 28 – Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Twin Warriors Golf Club and Santa Ana Golf Club, Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico.
Practice Rounds: Practice rounds will be available on weekdays prior to the Championship for Metro Chapter Members beginning July 29 and on a limited space available basis on Sunday, August 10 after 12:00 p.m. for those players from the East Texas and West Texas Chapters. Contact Mira Vista Country Club at (817) 294-6666 to arrange a practice round starting time.
Registration: Tournament registration will take place from 6:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the clubhouse on Monday, August 11. Please be sure to register prior to your starting time.
Refunds: If you are unable to play, please notify the section office. In accordance with the national policy, you will be refunded $50.00 of the $110.00 entry fee you paid the PGA national office. After 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, no refunds will be issued.
Accommodations: Holiday Inn Express Fort Worth – (817) 292-4900; The Holiday Inn Express is providing a rate of $115, plus tax. Reservations must be booked on or before July 27. Be sure to make arrangements using reference code: PGA. The hotel is located approximately 3 miles from Mira Vista Country Club.
