EIGHT AMATEURS ADVANCE TO CHRYSLER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP NATIONAL FINALS
IRVING, Texas – Eight amateurs will advance to the Chrysler Club Championship National Finals after finishing in the top four of both the men’s and women’s divisions today at the Chrysler Club Championship Regional Tournament presented by Golf Digest Publications.
The champion of the men’s division was Kent Yarbrough of The Vaquero Club after firing an even par 71. Yarbrough also captured this Championship in 2006. Mina Hardin of Mira Vista Country Club won the women’s division with a round of 74. In the men’s division, Yarbrough will be joined by fellow qualifiers Kenny Davis of Split Rail Links and Golf Course, Lewis Stephenson of Walnut Creek Country Club and Trip Leon of Dallas National Golf Club. In the women’s division, Hardin will have fellow competitors Jamie Senter of Shady Oaks Country Club, Debra Woolf of Colonial Country Club and Nancy Beck of Brook Hollow Golf Club join her in the national event.
The regional Chrysler Club Championship, held at Las Colinas Country Club in Irving, Texas is one of eight regional tournaments conducted across the country. The 18-hole individual stroke play event featured 98 men and women club champions or runners-up from area private, public and resort facilities.
The Chrysler Club Championship National Finals will be held in conjunction with the Merrill Lynch Shootout at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida on December 10-14, 2008. The top place male and female finishers in the National Tournament will advance to compete alongside the world’s best players in the 2009 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic Pro-Am on January 14-18, 2009.
