Eligibility:
Professionals participating in the 2008 Texas State Open and their amateur partners. Contestants are NOT required to reside in Texas.
NOTE: The first 10 professionals entering a paid team into the Pro-Am will receive an exemption into the 2008 Texas State Open. Professionals will be required to pay the applicable exempt contestant entry fee for the tournament proper in addition to the Pro-Am entry fee.
Pro-Am Format:
The Pro-Am will be conducted at The Cascades. Play will commence with a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start. Registration will commence at 11:30 a.m. with lunch being served. The format for the Pro-Am will be the low net ball, plus the low gross ball of the team. The same ball may count twice. There is a separate low professional division.
Entry Fees:
$1,800.00 team entry fee (three amateurs and one professional). The entry fee includes the following:
• One round of golf at The Cascades
• Complimentary range balls
• Tee gifts for each amateur participant
• Lunch prior to the Pro-Am
• Beverages during the Pro-Am
• Closest to the hole/long drive prizes for amateurs
• Hors d’oeuvres and beverages following the Pro-Am
• Gift certificates for amateurs on low finishing
teams
• A separate professional purse
Pro-Am Entry Deadline:
Monday, June 30 at 5:00 p.m. CDT. All Pro-Am entry forms shall be returned to the Northern Texas PGA via mail, facsimile, overnight carrier or in person prior to the entry deadline.
Other Information:
Following the entry deadline, the Northern Texas PGA will forward you the applicable exempt contestant packet. This will include information such as tournament proper entry fees, accommodations, practice rounds and other information. Please note: Exempt “other” professionals shall pay a $400.00 entry fee, exempt PGA Member and Apprentice professionals shall pay a $350.00 entry fee. All entry fees are payable in cash, cashier’s check, money order, traveler’s check, or VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. Personal checks will be accepted from PGA Members and Apprentices only. Tournament proper entry fees will be payable by Thursday, July 3 at 5:00 p.m. CDT.
Dress Code:
Proper golf attire is required. Bermuda-length shorts are permitted for amateurs; however, slacks must be worn by all professionals during the Pro-Am.
Non-Metal Spikes:
The UST Texas State Open Pro-Am is a non-metal spike tournament only.
