FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ONE PAGE PRESS RELEASE Date: March 4, 2008 WORLEY JR. AND WEESNER CAPTURE PRO-PRO CHAMPIONSHIP Shreveport, LA - The Ace Laminates of Texas / Horseshoe Casino Pro-Pro Championship was captured by the team of Carl Worley Jr., head golf professional at Holly Lake Ranch Golf Club in Hawkins and Brad Weesner, a Nationwide Tour member from Hideaway. Worley Jr. and Weesner shot a front nine five under par 31 and a back nine one under par 35 to finish at 66 (-6) for the Championship. Their round included two eagles, one on the 510 yard par five first hole and one on the 534 yard par five eighth hole. The eagle on number eight led them to claiming the $2,200.00 Horseshoe Casino Skins Game. The defending Championship team of Greg Antunes, head golf professional at Stonetree Golf Club in Killeen, and his son Jon Antunes, a teaching professional at HOT Golf, Inc. in Waco fired a 67 (-5) to finish alone in second place. The event was shortened to eighteen holes after inclement weather forced tournament officials to cancel round one. The maintenance staff at Southern Trace Country Club worked feverously to get the golf course playable after over an inch of rain drenched the course on Monday. The four-ball stroke play Northern Texas PGA major championship feartued 49 teams of two PGA professionals competing at Southern Trace Country Club, a par 72, 6,861 yar Arthur Hills designed private facility located in Shreveport, Louisiana. The Northern Texas PGA Ace Laminates of Texas / Horseshoe Casino Pro-Pro Championship was presented by Club Car, Cutter & Buck, Devant Sport Towels, and The Green Grass Golf Group. The 49 teams competed for a share of the $29,000.00 total purse. The winning team took home $3,800.00 for first place. Final results follow:
