Entry fee must accompany application and be payable in cash, cashier’s check, money order, traveler’s check, debit card or credit card. Personal checks will only be accepted from members of: the PGA of America; the PGA TOUR; the Nationwide Tour; or regular members of the Champions Tour. The additional $200.00 entry fee for successful Pre-Qualifiers must be paid prior to the player’s starting time in the Monday Open Qualifying. Entry fee includes: green fee; range usage on the competition day(s) and, for the successful qualifiers, the entry fee to the tournament proper.

FORMAT:
Pre-Qualifying: 18-hole stroke play competition. All amateur and professional applicants must pre-qualify except: 2009 PGA TOUR members, 2009 Nationwide Tour members, 2009 Champions Tour regular members, and two (2) exemptions from the local PGA Section, and Former PGA TOUR members from 2006-2008. The number of Pre-Qualifiers that will advance to the Monday Open Qualifying Competition will be 50 and ties; when more than one pre-qualifying site is used, the split for each site will be announced when the pairings are posted. When multiple sites are used, if the total number of successful qualifiers is less than 50, the number of qualifying positions will be increased equally at each site until at least 50 applicants advance. In the event that the pre-qualifying entries number 65 or less at the non-member entry deadline, the pre-qualifying will be held and the percentage of players advancing to the Open Qualifying will be 75% of the Pre-Qualifying field. Maximum field size is 264 players for the Pre-Qualifying. If the total number of entries necessitates the use of two golf courses, requests for a specific course will NOT be granted. The Section will split the field (at random) between the two courses.
Open Qualifying: An 18-hole stroke play event with the low 4 qualifiers advancing to the 2009 HP BYRON NELSON CHAMPIONSHIP. In the event of a tie for the last qualifying position, there will be a hole-by-hole sudden death playoff immediately following the completion of play.
ENTRY DEADLINES:
Non-PGA TOUR Members must enter Pre-Qualifying, the entry deadline is: Friday, May 8 at 5:00 p.m. CDT.
PGA TOUR, Nationwide Tour, Champions Tour Regular Members, PGA Section Exempt professionals and Former PGA TOUR Members years 2006-2008 are exempt into Open Qualifying, the entry deadline is: Friday, May 15 at 5:00 p.m. CDT.
NOTE: No phone entries will be accepted. Only entry forms received via mail, fax or online will be accepted.
ELIGIBILITY:
Professionals and Amateurs with a handicap index when applied to the qualifying course slope will generate a handicap of two (2) or less. The PGA TOUR reserves the right to verify the handicap index of amateurs and to refuse anyone not meeting the requirements.
STARTING TIMES:
Starting times will be available after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9 for the Pre-Qualifying competition. Starting times will be available after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 for the Open Qualifying competition. Please contact the Section office; the host facilities; or check www.ntpga.com to obtain your starting time. Starting times will be emailed.
WITHDRAWALS:
Applicants must withdraw prior to the entry deadline to be eligible for an entry fee refund. Contestants who withdraw during the round may be subject to disciplinary action. Refunds will be granted for withdrawals prior to the entry deadline listed on the entry form and will be charged a $25.00 cancellation fee.
RULES OF GOLF:
Play shall be governed in accordance with the Rules of Golf of the United States Golf Association, as modified by the PGA TOUR Local Rules and Conditions of Competition card and supplemented by the Notice to Competitors. Questions or disputes shall be settled by the on site Rules Committee appointed by the PGA TOUR, whose decision shall be final.
SPIKE POLICY:
The use of traditional metal spikes is permitted during the Competitions. Stonebridge Ranch Country Club (Dye Course & Hills Course) are non-metal spike facilities, all contestants MUST abide by this policy during practice rounds.
APPEARANCE:
Players: While on the host facility property, players shall present a neat appearance in both clothing and personal grooming. Blue jeans, shorts, cutoffs, T-shirts or shirts with no collar shall not be worn.
Caddies: While on the host facility property, caddies may wear either long pants or tailored solid colored knee length shorts. Blue jeans, cutoffs, T-shirts or shirts with no collar shall not be worn. Smooth rubber sole shoes are required. Golf shoes with traditional metal or soft spikes are prohibited.
CONDUCT:
While on host facility property during qualifying rounds; players and caddies shall conduct themselves in a professional manner. PGA TOUR reserves the right to remove a player from the qualifying competition for; non competitiveness; conduct unbecoming a professional by the player; conduct unbecoming a professional by the players’ caddie.
